The Top 9 Things , I Wish I had Known Before buying Lift

The Top 9 Things , I Wish I had Known Before buying Lift

  1. Shall I buy from Big Bands or Local Indian manufacturers This depends on your choice & liking , however your local manufacturer’s can also offer you a good product and some times better deal . This selection may also depend on application , speed of Lift you are looking at & no of floors ( >12 floors , try to go for bigger company as local manufacturers , barring very few , may not have required expertise. know more ) . It is worth to find out few of good local manufacturers and get their quotes. Then review, compare & decide
  2.  Oh my god, There are so many of them ( local manufacturers) how do I select one. Yes it's true that, with growth in construction and huge demand of Lifts, there are lot of local Lift company around . It's very difficult to select one as everyone claims to be the best .The Lift business is a highly technical and demanding work . Many people has entered this business for short term benefits (fly by night operators, Beware of them.) They offer very low prices . Once you start asking & comparing about prices .These people knows that they have found their prey .The safe guard against these people shall be to qualify them about their company, business, experience & expertise. Ask few questions and you shall see many of local manufacturers shall just filter away . ( List of suggested questions )
  3. are you looking for Lift that you are going to use for several years? Don’t buy the first supplier you see, take your time and look around. Exploring all your options will ensure that you don’t regret your decision after wards. Don’t rush it, buying a Lift is not a small investment, so make sure you have had enough time to compare all the options. Ask questions. No question you have is too stupid or insignificant to ask it. Keep in mind that you are looking for Lift that you are going to use for several years, so don’t settle for anything less and speak up! Buy a product that is risk free .
  4. I heard many story of Lift falling . Is it safe to buy from local manufacturers?Yes that's the whole point . Safety is major concern . you have to ensure that you buy from someone who does not compromise with safety . But with whole focus on prices , it shall not be a good idea to deal with lowest bidder or force higher bidder to come to lower prices . Let’s understand that quality and safety shall get compromised. Some times you shall get to know it and some times not .
  5. What about Quality & service Life of Lift ? can Local manufacturers offer good quality and long life. You may agree that quality is highly subjective matter. You are putting LIVES at stake. The Lift you buy must be 100% safe . Buy from a local manufacturer who has a running business of 15 years ( at least look for 10 years ) . Ask for no of safety devices. ( Shall be over 20 , know more )
  6. I am confused , Some Manufacturer offer very low prices and some offer high prices ?There is hardly anything that some one can not make little worse and sell at cheaper prices . It is unwise to pay too much , but it is worse to pay too little. There is no way, prices can come down without compromising quality and Safety .It is known fact that in view of severe competition in market , bigger brands has considerably reduced their prices to a level where Local manufacturers used to sell. Bigger brands has made business model policy to sell cheap & High AMC . Plus bigger brands has a tendency to supply highly proprietary equipment with self lockable software's so that no one can do maintenance on their equipment . Because of this advantage, they claim quite high AMC charges.
  7. So what shall I do to select my Lift supplier? Never discuss about prices in first meeting . First settle technical specifications . Check and ask if these specifications meet the Indian Standards & safety codes.( know more ) Always try to buy Lifts that meet these codes. Once Technical specifications are freezed then start commercial and prices discussions . Please note Factor of safety shall be a major way to reduce prices. Factor of safety & product duty directly affect the Safety & Life & performance of equipment . Insist that factor of safety shall meet Safety code requirements .
  8. This is too technical, how do i check all these . ?Simply ask your local Lift supplier , how they design their Lifts. What software they use. It is impossible to do these design calculations manually now. Bigger brands also uses a software to carry out these calculations on safety factors . Ask if they have any software. (Most of bigger brands & Good Local manufacturer uses the only available Lift designer software called Digipara .(www.digipara.com/about/customers/)
  9. So what shall be the right prices. ( How do I know the right price ? ) Now you have about 2 or 3 shortlisted & Filtered supplier . Their Technical specifications shall be same now , so. you can make a bench mark which is average of the. However paying little higher is always better then paying less .because if you pay high , you loose little money but if you pay less , you might loose whole investment as the product may not perform or last long as desired.
